Embark on an unforgettable summer program designed for high school students and teens passionate about travel and conservation. Journey to a secluded beach on the stunning Pacific coast of Costa Rica to help protect endangered sea turtles. These majestic creatures face threats to their nesting grounds from hunting, pollution, and coastal development. While spotting a sea turtle isn’t guaranteed, your efforts will make a meaningful impact on their conservation.
Spend your mornings participating in beach cleanup projects and assisting in the construction of a turtle hatchery. At night, join monitoring efforts along the beach, identifying turtle nests, counting eggs, and carefully relocating them to the hatchery or a safer spot along the shoreline. With guidance from expert volunteers, many of these eggs will hatch into healthy baby turtles, playing a vital role in preserving the species.
In your downtime, immerse yourself in Costa Rican culture by learning traditional art techniques, or take a trip to the vibrant beach town of Samara. There, you can experience the thrill of surfing the Pacific’s incredible waves. This is more than just teen travel—it's an opportunity to make a difference while exploring the beauty and adventure Costa Rica has to offer.
